Proposed events/activities (2 hrs. daily) 

Note: The school may use their discretion to adopt the below activities in full / part based on time and resource availability.  

Day 1 – Invoking the spirit of knowledge

  • Ganapati idol or photo installation (symbolic of festival commencement) followed by Puja and bhajans. 

  • Talk by the Principal on the significance of Ganapati festival (pointers attached)

  • Members from the community, alumni – short talk

  • Aarti and prasad distribution 

Day 2 – Aesthetic and cultural development 

  • Campus activities 

    • Role play or talk on birth of Ganesha –elephant head and physical form (details attached)

    • Group Devotional singing competition (primary and secondary sections)

  • Classroom Activities 

    • Drawing competition for secondary students 

    • Ganesh idol from clay, turmeric, Kumkum for primary students

    • Discussion – What will you do to expand your knowledge like Ganesha?

Day 3 – God – My friend (My moral compass)

  • Role play on Ganesha and other mythological stories (maximum 5 mins each) – one from each class, all divisions combined

  • Teachers follow this up with a classroom diary writing activity on ‘Learning from what we saw’.

Day 4 – My India My Pride

  • Fancy dress competition - Gods, Goddess, saints and national leaders of India. 

  • Talk / Panel discussion on India – a role model to the world for Ethics and Moral values (by school alumni / teachers)

Day 5 – Integrate and merge with Community 

  • Grand Finale community procession with Ganesha idol on a small chariot with slokas, bhajans. Banners on Swami’s teachings, Swachhata Se Divyata Tak and Ceiling on Desires to be displayed. 

  • Closure talk – significance of idol immersion. Reflect on - What are the bad qualities we would like to immerse in water?
